Page Four...Hammer and Dinner!

Here's a unique view of
George Mason University's Track and Field Facility!
Over 1000 athletes from over 100 schools competed!
In spite of numerous thunderstorms and a few delays,
George Mason University and their officials were
great hosts and did a great job!

Congratulations! --Karen:)

Coach Judge is best known for his hammer throwers and the hammer group didn't let him down today!
In spite of incredibly poor weather, great results were achieved.

   HAMMER  ( 25 points!) ....

National Record holder Candice Scott (214-04) easily won the competition on all but 1 throw, followed by NCAA Regional Runner-up and All-American Jukina Dickerson (208-07).  Erin Gilreath  (202-09) squeezed by Coastal Carolina's Amber Campbell (201-2) to win a tight race for the bronze. Multi-talented Kim Barrett (189-04) was Florida's last scorer in 8th place.  Florida Iron woman Dore'  DeBartolo (178-03) finished in 11th and Merilyn Brown (176-0) took
15th!

Candice and Jukina relax in the fieldhouse
before the hammer competition.

Everybody got out umbrellas
as the sky opened up.

One of the highlights of our trip was a fantastic dinner for both the men's and women's track teams.
The dinner was hosted by Amber Robinson's parents and Rickey Harris' parents.  We can't thank you enough!

K-Mail Food!
Ribs, chicken, beans, and salad, all prepared
by gourmet chef, Mr. Harris.
